A comedy showcase where different comedians are invited to come and tell an audience about their experiences wanking. In this fittingly hot, sticky, late night room, it soon become clear that there is a lot less comedy in the act of masturbation, than the idea of it.
Comic after comic chose just to focus on their technique and how they bring themselves sexual relief, without any jokes. At times if felt more like a biology lesson, than a comedy show. Of the initial 35 audience members, 34 walked out within the first 10 minutes, leaving me on my own in a room of “comedians” talking about wanking.
The host didn’t make this any better with his constant prop – a banana – which served the double purpose of a substitute phallas and microphone.
The one redeeming feature of the show was an appearance from comedy svengali “Tape Face” who really showed the rest of the cast how it was done with a wonderful silent physical piece about female masturbation. It was almost worth the entrance fee alone. Almost, but not quite.
